Bario Ginger
Background: Bario Ginger originated from Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia. The ginger, the most popular variety of Zingiber officinale grown in Malaysia, was introduced to the Kelabit Highlands in 2012. It quickly gained interest of villagers due to its potential economic value.
Growing Conditions: Bario Ginger thrives in the cool weather with temperature ranges between 12-25 degrees Celsius of the Kelabit Highlands in Borneo Sarawak. It is cultivated in the wild and pristine valleys, located at an altitude of 3,700 feet above sea level.
Cultivation: Bario Ginger is mainly cultivated by the Kelabits, the native people of Sarawak. It is one of the key products of Bario, alongside rice and natural bamboo spring salts.
Usage: Bario Ginger offers a spicy and pungent aroma, with mild spiciness. It is used as a versatile spice and condiment, including as a baking spice, the primary ingredient for ginger tea and ginger paste for dipping and cooking purposes. Additionally, it is commonly julienned and added as a seasoning to enhance the flavors of steamed fish and stir-fried vegetable dishes.

How to Use / Cara Menguna
- Shake well before use
- Take 30 ml (2 tablespoons) before breakfast and evening meal
- Consume within 40 days after opened
- Keep in a cold place, below 30°C
